Less Available

Generally Kokum Butter is simply less available, and where it is available more expensive, than more popular butters such as Shea Butter, Cocoa Butter and Coconut Oil.

Not Applicable as a Standalone Product & Requires Formulation

Kokum Butter, is relatively non pliable in its raw form, unlike the more popular butters (Shea, Coconut, or even Cocoa Butter, which are soft or can be applied as standalone products).

Kokum Butter it is dense and has a relatively hard texture. By nature it is a dry and flaky butter, that does not lend itself to a smooth application in its raw form, unlike shea, coconut or cocoa butter.

It is accordingly rarely found on the market in as a standalone application product. It is better suited for being blended with other ingredients to create exquisite body care products.

Fortunately for you, we have done the hard work of formulating with the Kokum Butter as our main staple ingredient, so that you may enjoy its superior properties!

4. Comedogenicity:

Cocoa Butter: It has a higher comedogenic rating, which might not be suitable for individuals with acne-prone skin.

We only use natural colorants in our products, such as herbs and botanicals (e.g. rose powder), other natural plant powders (e.g. pumpkin powder) or very small amounts of clays, to create beautiful pigments.

Our Originals Collection is completely scent free. (Meaning the following product formulations will always be scent free: Instant Hydrator, Stretch Mark Eraser, Tightening and Firming).

Where we do use scents, our products carry elegant scent profiles that we create through gentle herb infused oils, skin safe amounts of premium ethically harvested and pure Essential Oils, or high quality Fragrance Oils.
